Pantnagar, December 22, 2025:
A Farmers’ Chaupal was successfully organized at the Artificial Insemination Centre, Govindpur (Sitarganj), under the All India Coordinated Research Project on Frieswal, implemented by the Central Institute for Research on Cattle (CIRC), Meerut. The program aimed to promote scientific animal husbandry practices through direct interaction between livestock farmers and scientists.
The programme was inaugurated by Dr. Brijesh Singh, Professor, Department of Livestock Production Management and Project Officer, who motivated the participating livestock farmers and project team members. He highlighted the objectives of the Frieswal project and explained its benefits for improving livestock productivity and farmers’ income.
Dr. Ripusudan Kumar, Associate Professor, Department of Animal Nutrition, addressed key issues related to animal nutrition. He provided practical solutions to nutritional problems and demonstrated methods for preparing balanced and quality animal feed, advising farmers to adopt scientific and technical practices for advanced livestock management.
Dr. Brijesh Singh also shared valuable insights on animal breed improvement, emphasizing the importance of indigenous breeds and addressing breeding and reproductive management issues.
During the Chaupal, registration of livestock farmers, distribution of livestock-related materials, and the vote of thanks were conducted by Ms. Aradhana Phular. A total of 43 livestock farmers actively participated in the programme.
Vanshika Gupta is a second-year research scholar in Agricultural Communication at G.B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology.
